Essential Oils Safety Guidelines


Storage


  • Always keep your essential oils in a dark and dry place
  • Be sure to have your essential oil's bottles tightly capped
  • Bottles must be dark or ambar glass. Never use plastic container to store pure essential oils


Safety


  • Store your essential oils away from reach of kids
  • Do no ingest neat essential oils
  • Oral administration must be always under a certified aromatherapist's guidance
  • Discontinue use in case of allergic reaction


Contraindications


  • Pregnancy: basil, clary sage, cypress, juniper, marjoram, myrrh, nutmeg, rosemary, sage, thyme.
  • High Blood Pressure: rosemary, thyme, sage.
  • Sensitive Skin: basil, lemon, cinnamon bark, clove bud, lemongrass, thyme and tea tree.
  • Photosensitive: The following essential oils can't be used in case of sun exposure, at least, 12 hours before; bergamot, lime, bitter orange, lemon.
